Fredric Zinober, Florida Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer
Areas of Practice
Fred Zinober is a Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer widely known for his experience in the courtroom, having tried more than 100 jury cases for a wide variety of clients. His representation of injured people and their families take him all over Florida, where he works not only with his clients, but for other law firms which routinely retain him as co-counsel to benefit from his success and experience in the courtroom. In 2007, Super Lawyers Magazine ranked Zinober as one of the Top 100 Lawyers in Florida.
Zinober presents regularly to lawyers and judgeson topics associated with trial practice, trial preparation, personal injury, premises liability, and negligent security. In addition to being Board Certified in Civil Trial law, Zinober was also previously Board Certified in Criminal Trial between 1993 and 2003, a distinction worn by few attorneys in Florida.
Personal Biography
“You don’t win football games on Sunday. You may play them on Sunday, but you really win them on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday in preparation for Sunday.” – Bill Romanowski, 4-time Super Bowl Champion linebacker
Fred Zinober attributes his success, primarily, to his preparation, along his willingness to dig far beneath the surface of a problem to understand the essence of the issue. When Zinober sets his sights on a case, he is known for his focus and intensity. Because of the energy he puts into it, Zinober does not take every case that comes his way. Rather, once Zinober takes on a case, he has a tendency to live the case as if it were his own, or a member of his own families’ issue. During his career, Zinober has represented some of the highest profile clients imaginable both locally, and on a national level. Since 1986, Fred’s primary concentration has been on civil trial work, and is presently Board Certified in Civil Trial Practice.
Having grown up in New York, Zinober developed his competitive spirit on the athletic field, where he lettered in football, basketball, lacrosse and baseball in high school, and was a four year starter as a linebacker and lacrosse player in college. He says the preparation for trial is similar to the way he would prepare for football games in college. The key to success in a courtroom, in a mediation, in an administrative hearing, or in an arbitration, Zinober believes, is based upon the focus, concentration, and devotion to detail that is expended before making the presentation.
“Most people would be alarmed to know how little trial experience most lawyers actually have,” Zinober says. That is not a concern for Zinober’s clients. After practicing for two years in New Hampshire, Zinober spent four years gaining as much trial experience as possible as an Assistant State Attorney, during which time he tried everything imaginable, from DUI’s to capital murders. And as a “hobby,” Zinober honed his trial skills defending citizens charged with first degree murder – becoming Board Certified in Criminal Trial Law from 1993 to 2003.
“I believe I am a better civil trial lawyer on personal injury cases because I represented people accused of capital murder, where the stakes are the absolute highest they can be,” he says.
Finding more satisfaction in working closely with clients to resolve their personal and usually complex issues, Zinober enjoys a working environment where he has more control over both the direction of the firm and the individual practice of law. For this reason, he combined his trial skills, talent, and experience with Ted Corless in forming Corless Zinober, PLC.
“The Corless Zinober environment provides exactly the opportunity I sought when I graduated law school – more than 30 years ago,” he says.
Zinober has truly chartered his own course, while providing the type of high quality services one rarely finds in a small to mid-sized firm.
Outside the Courtroom
When he’s not practicing law, Zinober still finds himself on high-energy ventures. An active triathlete, he runs, bikes, swims, weight trains, skis, scuba dives, boats, and has even sky-dived and participated in a cattle roundup in Colorado. If time permits and he wants to wind-down a little, you may find Zinober in front of his piano or playing a trumpet. Fred is also a devoted father and husband.
Simply put, Fred Zinober is unique in both law and life.
